To mark the launch of its Interactive Media Lab, UNSW Art & Design will light up its iconic Paddington courtyard with audiovisual performances and interactive works. UNSW researchers, members of Sydney’s interactive media community, and undergraduate and postgraduate students from Design and Media Arts will provide displays and showcase their current projects.
The faculty has a rich history of teaching in interactive media across its design, media arts and fine arts degrees, and has a diverse community of researchers whose work connects art and technology in multiple ways, including the Creative Robotics Lab, iCinema, the 3D Visualisation Aesthetics Lab and the Sound and Materials group. The faculty also connects with local artists and businesses who work as part of Sydney’s growing interactive media industry. This evening will display work from across these areas and provide focus for thinking about Sydney’s future as a leading centre for interactive media.
