Fuelled by an urgency to act and impatient for results, the Impatience Symposium explores how design is aggressively pursuing and implementing change. Over two-days the symposium will bring to life the role of design within society and examine the social, political and cultural potential of designers working with impatience.

Hosted by the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, at UTS as part of CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade, the symposium brings together the exhibitors of CUSP, with a group of design theorists and lateral thinkers to find out what kind of change design is capable of – and how design positions itself in relation to accelerated urbanism, Big Data, uncertain biomedical and human robotic futures and aggressive geo-engineering.
