For the acclaimed Korean-based, Canadian-trained jeweller, Hyun-seok Sim, his contemporary pieces are crafted as a way to refresh our vision of the familiar world. He reinterprets subjects, such as chairs, tables and doors, with a clear modern aesthetic of geometric bas reliefs, and manages to make us see the familiar with fresh eyes. This silversmith has lectured extensively at universities in Canada and Korea for the past decade while showing his handmade works, such as silver cameras and jewellery, in numerous exhibitions all over the world.
