Following the recent announcement of the NSW Emerging Architect Prize, the winner gives a presentation about his/her career progression, mentors and contribution to the professional community. The winner of this award had made an outstanding contribution to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement. The talk is followed by a question-and-answer session, where fellow emerging architects, students and graduates are free to ask the difficult questions, focusing on mentoring and teaching. In order to keep the session moving along, the winner only has one minute to answer each question. The evening is hosted by Janne Ryan, an ideas curator and executive producer of the recent TEDxSydney event. Ryan works on the ABC By Design team and is architecture writer for The Australian’s Wish magazine. She also co-produced the ABC-TV series, In The Mind Of The Architect.
